Sharing Session at Sekolah Berasrama Penuh Integrasi Gombak (SBPI Gombak)

Technology has impacted almost every aspect of life today, and education is no exception to the rule. Public schools are one of the few institutions that have not seen radical changes spurred by current technology. This have to change in order to align with Industry Revolution 4.0 which is taking over the country.

I shared my view on the gap between the education and the industry at UiTM, Kuching and most recently at Sekolah Berasrama Penuh Integrasi Gombak (SBPI Gombak). As more employers are focusing on BEHAVIORS over qualification, candidates screening will become more complex. Movement to mobile application processes with ATS integration and competency-based testing for specific skills, and bundling individual skills into professional grouping will soon be a necessity to employers in order to screen the right candidates that fit the job required of them. More sharing sessions of the same are to come.

The country is in need of a rethinking and redesigning of the education system that aligns with the growth of industries so that it can prepare our children for knowledge and skills that are needed for today and for the future. Not only that, educators and the academic institutions soon need to find ways to adapt to these by transforming their teaching skills from the traditional way.

Our PM has just announced his involvement in our country’s Education system. Can’t wait……
